My apologies

I’ve been stuck in an unproductive rut for more than a few weeks now, and I haven’t gotten into the right mindset for working on the game. School’s not exactly tough, and it’s not like I’m super busy, but I just can’t seem to find “it”. I go to class, go back to my room, and just do nothing for hours. I’m sleeping at 4:30 every day for no reason at all. What am I even doing with my life?

It’s frustrating. Lots of things in my life are frustrating me at the moment. I don’t know when I’ll get back to this, but I hope that time comes soon.

School project’s done. Ever wanted to know what inspires me, or what I think about as I work on this game? Of course you didn’t.

Yo! How the progress going?

Thanks for checking in! Honestly, with the new school quarter, I haven’t been able to do much. Most of the reason is that my work ethic’s been on a downward spiral, leading to more all-nighters than necessary, dropped classes, and an overall shitty feeling 24/7, but I’m trying to fix that real quick.

In terms of concrete progress, I’m still “stuck” at the opening sequence for John’s first chapter. I remember what I had planned, just that I haven’t worked on it in a while. Once my schedule stabilizes, i.e. when I stop wasting all my free time and get my priorities straight, you’ll start seeing new updates again.

In the meantime, I have this! It’s a project for one of my classes where we have to design a website and have it focus on a particular aspect of ourselves. Naturally, I chose this project. If you’re reading it right now and it’s, like, before 7 AM, you’ll find it’s not finished yet. Still working on it.

Like all the others, John crash-lands in the middle of this strange new world, without so much as a single clue about how he ended up here. Fortunately, his combat skills remain intact (beginning his arc at level 5 instead of 1), so even though he’s ambushed right away, surviving the forest should prove to be an easy task.

(Similar to this, I’ll have a preview/collage for every arc chapter I begin, since I enjoy sharing my work.)

With seven story arcs for this game and 8.5 months until Christmas 2012, I think I can allow myself to set a deadline. Chapter 1, at least, should be finished by the end of April. If I decide to tackle one entire arc after the other, I should complete John’s story by the end of spring quarter; otherwise, I’ll set a different deadline when I’ve got a plan set up.

Hey folks. I worked on the RPG for quite a bit today, and since this is only the gameplay mechanics and not the story, I figured it’d be okay to upload a video (by request) of the character select screen.

The nation select graphic is a little out-of-place, I understand. I’ll fix it with a better-looking image later on, when I’ve taken care of the more important things.
